Some decisions are really tough ones.......

Good afternoon all you crafty Peeps, as the title of this posts suggests I have had to come to a really tough decision, I've been mulling it all over for a week or two and in the end bounced all the options off hubby, my number one craft critic and sounding block.

As lots of you know I have been struggling with my fingers and hands for a few weeks now and typing has become an increasing nightmare, not only in the pain it inflicts but coupled with my lack of dexterity means I spend as much time making corrections as I do the initial typing and still I miss some and I know one or two have raised smiles here and there...................the very worse must have been the mistyped mention of the Big Sh(o)t!! And although I have a voice recognition programme, that has a mind of it's own as my speech can be iffy some days so again I need to do lots of correcting.

Some of you know I did try copy and paste commenting a couple of weeks ago but feel so guilty doing that when I am not able to return comments as I would wish so my next thought was to switch off the comment options totally on my blog, but this seems drastic when I know people often like to ask me questions.

So for the time being I will try the compromise position using a copy/pasty solution to leave comments ......................but I hope this will at least let you know I do remain genuinely interested in what you are up to and that I have popped in. And I will leave the comments switched on for those of you who would still like to visit...............but as always whilst your generous and warm comments are always much appreciated I do not expect you to do so.

At the end of the day we all draw inspiration from one another, those of us who say otherwise need a reality check................ and I make no secret that I do so enjoy visiting peoples blogs, seeing all your different creations and reading what you are all up to. Likewise the purpose of my blog remains as it did on day one, a place for me to share my ideas and projects along with the wonderful products I am often privileged to work with and hopefully offer some inspiration along the way.

Sorry to ramble on but it's been worrying me and needed saying and hope you understand it's a bit of a needs must scenario at the moment. I shall be doing regular posts with what I am able to create.......it's slow going and one project can take me a day..........often accompanied by a few linguistic expletives along the way, but I shall still be about one way or another.

Oh Brenda please never think that I comment here just to expect a comment back...that is not the reason I leave comments anywhere in blog land! I do try to get around to commenting, I am not often successful but I always read the blogs I follow. I just don't have enough hours in the day to do everything. I love seeing what you are creating. The most important person to think about is you...you are quite correct to leave your commenting as you need your hands to continue to create. Please take care...when I first saw this title I thought you were giving up crafting and thought ...Noooo... so I am delighted to find this is not so. Hugs. Jane xx

Hallo Brenda, I know you are struggling for some time now, so I don't mind that you stop reacting on my blog or even copy and paste if you like that. You must do what you want to do, just for yourself and thinking about getting better. I hope you don't shut down the reactions on your own blog as I always enjoy coming here and looking at your beautiful creations. (and get inspired :-)) Hope that you can still enjoy making your cards and blogging and that you will be feeling better soon.
Take care!
Love,

Hi Brenda, I think most of your loyal followers know enough about your physical condition to fully understand that leaving comments may be hard for you and is in no way a sign of disinterest. I'm happy to hear that you decided to allow us to leave comments on your blog, and I do hope that you will at least be able to keep on creating, since it is obviously something you love doing. And we all love to see what you create! So please don't worry about us, just concentrate on the things you can do!

Brenda, do not worry about it, I totally understand and I,m sure everyone else does too. I have trouble too with my thumbs and I sometimes copy and paste.
Take care and huggles from me. xxxx

Don't even think of this as a problem B, if you have passed a blog and left a pasted comment the most important knowledge for the blog owner is that you passed the blog and made an impression, not that it was a unique one. I'm quite convinced that every one that knows you will be really happy about a "came by to see your creation/love B" kinda comment. I know it's enough for me!

Dearest Brenda, please know that I love visiting your blog for your beautiful works and inspiration. I am really delighted when you visit my blog but I would be very upset if I thought that your making a comment causes you such pain, upset and significant time. Please pop by my blog only when you can but from this point on, please do not post any comment when you visit - that is an order! I know all too well the impact of illness and I genuinely would be cross with you to undertake commenting when that makes you worse. Concentrate just on maximising your own quality of health so that you can bring us all more lovely artwork. Love and very best wishes, Nicola x

Aww Brenda, you really shouldn't worry, you are not the only one who copies and pastes because of dexterity problems. There are also some who do it who have no health issues. The important thing is to look after yourself. I love visiting and commenting and if you can't comment back that's fine with me. I too love getting inspiration and love your Nicecrane work. What a lovely man after I left a comment her he visited me and then I commented on his blog and he sent me some freebies, so unexpected. Shame he can't sell to the UK, if I understand him correctly. Love and hugs xx

Ditto to what the others have said. We all struggle to comment from time to time for varied reasons, and whilst I appreciate comments, I never expect to receive them. Please don't beat yourself up about it - life is for enjoying. Maddy x

Please don't feel the need to be leaving me comments I would just like to think you had had a look around and enjoyed your visit. Do spend your time creating more beautiful projects for me to look at. I do hope though that things improve for you in the near future.

Poor Brenda! Your regular loyal followers know about your health issues - we come here to see your fantastic cards and to leave love for you and them - anyone who comments just to get a comment back has the wrong end of the blogging stick I think :/ Your cards are an inspiration to me, and I love seeing them, I leave comments to tell you that - and if you choose to leave me a comment back then great - but if not, it's no biggie :)

Hope you feel better soon

Brenda, like others have said, I visit here because I enjoy your beautiful work! No one should feel they have to pay return visits and leave comments, least of all if it causes so much hardship... You should use the energy and time you have to create is what I think. Having said that, I hope and pray that there will be times where you have relief of your health problems, I can't imagine how awful it must be to struggle like that.

Please do not feel you have to visit me back...I know your health problems and totally understand.
I can not think of anyone who would not mind a copy and paste comment though.

I have arthriitis (Dish and OA) and my neck and spine are the worst. There are days I can not sit to type and so I drop off the face of the earth and feel guilty too. But I have enough good days that I eventually catch up a bit! You do nott always have that luxury and so need to do whatever it takes to allow you to craft in your own fashion.

Do not worry about me girl, I will be there, looking at your gorgeous cards and taking inspiration from the fact that you made them even though you were struggling with pain. Your work inspires many people Brenda...that is your gift!!!

Hi Brenda, just for a minute there I thought you were going to stop blogging altogether and that would be too awful. I quite understand your dilemma and, because of my sister's experiences, am fully aware of how the fingers sometimes refuse to do the walking and the tongue refuses to do the talking. Like Viv above, I don't expect you to return any visit I make to you, or leave a comment either ... heavens, I'm not always well enough to do that either but, as you so rightly say, we draw inspiration from each other and that is good enough for me. I would miss the pleasure I get from not seeing your wonderful creations so, please, feel no guilt from not commenting. Take care and I hope your symptoms improve soon. Elizabeth xx PS: some good news from my sister who has just been all the way down to Sheffield to see a specialist because of the neuralgia she has been experiencing in her face for years - she has had several operations to try to ease the pain ... this surgeon has prescribed some new treatment which seems to be helping her deal with what was excruciating pain and so, for now anyway, there's no need for more surgery :)

I am so sorry that you are suffering so much that you have had to make this decision,

I am certain that you will still have lots of people commenting and I for one will not expect a comment back, a very big thank you for all the comments that you have left me in the past.
It would be dreadful not to see your creations and you are an inspiration to many.
Hope things improve.

Not to worry, post when you can and comment on your good days . We all craft because we love it and do get inspired by each other. I give you credit for all you do but the one thing you should never forget is you are #1 and your health comes first. As far as spelling or grammar, heck I have people who leave nasty comments about my grammar every once in a while and I know it might hurt, but if they don't like my mistakes they do not have to read them. Totally understandable ♥ I too struggle with health issues, aches and pains, and that's one of the reasons why I've been away for a year, and just recently returned to blogland. I more than often skip writing long comments unless it's something I really want to say - and think that to copy/paste commenting is totally ok to show that one popped by! Also creating cards and transfer them into our blogs is timeconsuming enough I think. Making blogentries both for your own sake, as well as everyone elses viewing pleasure is good enough - long descriptions and shortstories to go with the creations is not always neccessary, and everyone understands that I'm sure ♥ Keep the creativity flowing!

My son has a speech recognition programme and it does take alot of practicing before it gets to the point where it can work properly regardless of voice fluctuations. He use to have an old version as he was growing up and had trouble when his voice changed as he went through puberty but the newer version even works for him when he has cold and a sore throat. Either way I'm sure all your friends in blogland will understand.

Please don't even consider turning off your comments. When people leave me comments they are sunshine, every one is precious, but I don't believe that we have to give to receive or expect to receive when we give. I comment when I am inspired, impressed or just for the joy of sharing some good will. I know more people visit than comment and that's OK. There are many reason why people don't comment and I respect that but don't deny them the opportunity to share their appreciation of your craft. Your projects are lovely. Do what you can, when you can and let us leave a little sunshine in return.
